Implicit Association Tests: Do You Know What You Really Think?

While listening to the audio book “Blink” by Malcolm Gladwell (review coming soon), I came across some examples of IAT tests. These are tests where you are shown some pictures and asked to quickly put them into two or more categories. These categories are associated with attributes such as ethnicity, career, lifestyle, etc. These tests show how we make certain implicit associations in our mind even though at a conscious level we don’t think we have those associations. I tried a few at the IAT site. Try them and you will be surprised.
